Federal Sequestration Education Budget Impact

NSBA recently hosted a conference call update on the Budget Sequestration.  Direct lobbying efforts were discussed.  Education programs face an estimated cut of 8 percent on January 2, 2013, unless Congress takes action to cancel the budget cuts that are scheduled to occur through a process called sequestration. The budget sequestration will affect programs as an across-the-board cut to Fiscal Year 2013 funding and could also affect advance funded portions of programs such as Title I and IDEA from FY2012.
